Shadow Box card Tutorial

Hello All,

I have been on a bit of a creative roll lately (I think it’s because i have a “new” craft desk!)

I have been enjoying creating different card blanks so here is a tutorial for a shadow box  card!

Step One.

Cut 2 pieces of card stock to be 15cm wide by 10 .5cm tall.

Step two.

On both pieces score at 1cm, 2cm, 13cm and 14cm. Fold the front of your card to have Valley (Down) folds and the bottom of the card to have Mountain folds (Up)

Step three

One the piece that you want to use for the front of your project create an aperture. I used My Die cutting machine using Crafts-Too labels 2 dies (the 2nd biggest die) I also positioned my aperture slightly closer to the top of my card to leave room, for a sentiment below, but again where you place yours is up to you.

Step Four

Create image in the middle of your shadow box. I have cut a piece of coordinating paper (Kate Knight Totally tropical) to 10cmx10cm and attached to center of card back and used the label made when cutting the aperture to layer over the top. Then decorate as you like!

Step Five

Attach front and back using glue of your choice and Ta da you have one of these..

Spinner Card Tutorial

Morning All,

This is my first tutorial so please let me know how you find it (it will be picture heavy!).

Well to start here is my finished spinner card.

And here are the close ups!

Right, Lets get started.

Cut you Card to be 22.5cm x 15cm and then score at 7.5 from both ends (you will get a slight overhang at either end)

Then you fold the first fold mountain (up) and the second Valley (down).

Choose you papers and cut to fit the panels on the front of the card (I also did the back). I cut four to be 7.3cm x 14.8cm and 2 to 6.8 x 14.8. But you do whatever takes your fancy. Here are the papers i used.

Before sticking them on i inked the edges with distress ink (Walnut stain) to complete the shabby Chic look!

Once everything is adhered the front (leave the back for later) choose you die cutter for the aperture. Circles are good but i don’t have those so scalloped Circles for me.

So on your mountain fold (with the front of your card on your cutting mat) pop your die-cutter in the position you like and then fold the back of your card over (so you cut through the front and middle but not the back). You will want to make sure you go through a few times to make sure it has gone all the way through!

Now to make the spinner! Using your nesting die-cutters again choose the next size down and cut out 2 pieces of plan card (same as card blank). Then cut a length of craft wire and sandwich between the two. Glue together and decorated as you like!

To attach the spinner to the card blank pop the wire in the mountain fold and adhere the back papers with aperture cut from them (i popped the middle and front back paper on and drew around aperture and then die cut out.)

Here is your completed spinner card blank.

Now the fun of decorating begins!

I would love to see your creations!

Well happy crafting to you all!
